Classes have really stressed me out this semester. It’s only been a couple of months since classes began and Spring Break is just a few days away but I can’t tell you all how much I want this semester to end. Don’t get me wrong, I love classes, the interesting ones, but this semester all my classes just seem unnecessarily difficult and as usual, I have professors who all think that their class is the most important class of the semester and that I should spend the bulk of my time studying for that particular class. Earth to professors! All my classes are important!!
Quitting my job allotted me free time on the weekends! I did a photo shoot with Shawn Nguyen Photography which went swimmingly! The photos came out great, and each look was beautiful and so unique – I’m so used to “pageant” shots and these were make-up based pictures. My amazing designer mom, even designed traditional Filipino Ifugao and Mindanao headpieces with her cousin, Venie Tadeo, which were featured during this photo shoot.
Not all the pictures show my Filipino heritage but I must say that there is nothing I love more than returning to my Filipino roots. I love that I am half Asian and I love that my mother made my sister and I culturally aware of where she came from, who we are, and why it is still important to keep our culture alive in the U.S. Most of all, I love sharing my culture with you all. I am definitely #Proud2BPinoy and I always will be.
