Battle of the Eyeliners

Eyeliner
I’ve been wearing {and collecting} eyeliner since the early days of my makeup journey.

I’ve acquired almost every possible color of eyeliner as well as every shade of black. Not only that, but I’ve tried crayon, pencil, brush, brush-tip, felt-tip, gel, and cream eyeliners. As of right now, felt-tip is my ride or die.

Depending on how I am feeling that day, I will make my eyeliner appear natural and thin, or strong and bold. Most of the time, I wear my eyeliner winged, but sometimes it’s nice to go without. Felt-tip eyeliner just create a more striking, intense line and I honestly just gravitate to these more often.

Blue Augustine Felt Eyeliner

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

Rating: 9/10

This was the first felt-tip eyeliner that I ever tried and I thought it was decent. I used this eyeliner for over a year and it always drew a beautiful black line during the first few applications. It annoyed me that after a few uses, the felt would start to disintegrate and the liquid wouldn’t flow out anymore. I also felt like there wasn’t enough liquid inside because it never seemed to last long before I had to repurchase. I just assumed that all felt-tip eyeliners were this way, but now I know better.

Skone Insanely Intense Tattooed Waterproof Eyeliner in Jet Black

Rating: 7/10

I got this in my June Ipsy bag and it’s a solid eyeliner. I thought I was going to like it more, but I didn’t like how dull it appeared once it had been applied. The sheen does not make my eyes pop, but it lasts all day and it wears so well! The tube itself is kind of weird…it is chunky and the felt-tip is so small that it is hard to see where you are actually applying the liner.

NYX Epic Ink Liner in Black

I liked how jet black this eyeliner was. It is the darkest and blackest of the bunch. It’s not waterproof but it also is not quick to transfer. I’d say it’s long-wearing, but only if you are mostly indoors and not hitting the gym, or playing sports. Sometimes I’m not in the mood to apply waterproof makeup so on those days, this is my go-to.

Hard Candy Stroke of Gorgeous Felt Tip Eyeliner with Lash Enhancing Serum in Little Black Dress

Rating: 3/10

This eyeliner is the worst eyeliner I have ever used. I tried to think of something nice to say about it, but I can’t think of a single thing. Even though it’s not waterproof, I expected that this would at least stay on my eyelid without transferring, but instead, it smudged all over the place.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black

Rating: 10/10

I just about gave up on felt-tip eyeliner until my sister and friend talked me into trying this one out. Since trying it, I have purchased three more of these bad boys! This fast drying, long wearing, waterproof eyeliner will definitely get you through those sweaty Summer days. The felt tip draws a beautiful precise line in one stroke and the sheen it leaves on your eyes is breathtaking. This eyeliner is perfect for every occasion.

What eyeliners should I try next?
