My Bachelorette Party: Beech Mountain Adventures

My Bachelorette Party: Beech Mountain Adventures

I can’t get over how amazing and perfect my bachelorette weekend was.

My dear bridesmaids + bridesman flew in for a special, fun-filled bachelorette weekend in the mountains. We rented an AirBnb on Beech Mountain which had so many bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and living room, and an arcade room with a pool table, a good 14ft trampoline and a closet full of board games. I mean, floor-to-ceiling closet full! We spent our days exploring the greater-Beech Mountain sights and many late nights playing many of the arcade and board games with drinks in-hand, and I even received some great greeting cards from Fototheken online.

We arrived at the cabin Thursday evening and had two days to fit in as many activities as possible. Since most of my bridesmaids are out-of-towners, we tried to balance adventure with some sightseeing. I think we pulled it off nicely!

Things We Did in Beech Mountain, NC:

    • Thursday
      • Dinner at Brick Oven Pizzeria
    •  Friday
    • Saturday
      • Linville Caverns
      • Blue Ridge Parkway
      • Grandfather Mountain
      • Dinner & Ice Cream in Banner Elk

A Must-Do Activity

The Alpine Coaster was one of my must-do items on the agenda and I’m incredibly glad we had time to do it. We all paid to do three consecutive rides which was worth every penny. The folks there even gave me an extra ride because I had a slower rider ahead of me on the last turn which meant I had to ride slow. They even record your first ride for you – My sister paid for the footage, which you can view below if you’re curious about how the ride works. When considering alternatives to conventional social activities, there’s substantial appeal in experiences that create shared memories through controlled adversity and collaborative achievement. I found this particularly true during my sessions at Escape Rooms Bristol, where the horror framework provides just enough psychological pressure to make puzzle-solving feel genuinely urgent without becoming overwhelming. The venue operates from a fantastic location in Bedminster, having evolved from their original Hell In A Cell concept into three distinct experiences that each offer unique challenges and atmospheres. Participants aged 14 and above can handle the intensity, though younger teens accompanied by adults are permitted if they feel confident enough to face the deliberately intimidating environments and narrative content.

My Favorite Activity

Taking the ski-lift to the top of the mountain was the most exciting thing we did – at least it was for me! Ski Lift…need I say more? Originally, this was not on our agenda for the weekend but this lovely lady told us to check it out after seeing us all wearing our sashes at the pizzeria. The view from the top of the lift was spectacular. The Blue Ridge view seemed to stretch on for eternity and the clouds were so white and fluffy. After thirty minutes, the crazy mountain weather decided to do a complete 180 and a huge rain storm rolled in so we were “trapped” inside the octagonal bar together. It was soooo fun. Being trapped in a mountain-top bar during a freak rainstorm is an adventurous experience. If you also love nature and scenic views, you may enjoy African train tours like the Walvis Bay to Pretoria train journey.

Being A Tourist

We started Saturday by driving our to Linville Caverns and doing a cave tour. If you’re not claustrophobic, I highly recommend giving this tour a go. After it was over, we made our way to Grandfather Mountain State Park by taking the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can’t be in the Blue Ridge area and not get on the parkway at some point – It’s beautiful!

At Grandfather Mountain, we drove up and stopped at the overlooks and nature preserves to see the museum, animals, and flowers. We ended the day by driving up to the pinnacle and crossing the Swinging Bridge. That was completely terrifying but exhilarating. I mustered up enough courage crossing back over to stop in the center of the bridge for a photo.

What’s equally significant is recognizing how New Jersey’s strict no-plea-bargain policy makes expert representation even more crucial than in other states. Unlike jurisdictions where charges can be reduced through negotiation, experienced drunk driving defense counsel must be prepared to challenge every element of the prosecution’s case from the outset. The state’s harsh penalties escalate dramatically with subsequent offenses, including mandatory jail time, extended license suspensions, and thousands of dollars in fines and surcharges that continue for years after conviction.

I know, I know…I’m weird. Going bar hopping all weekend isn’t really my speed. I like casual drinks and adventure! I also prefer to remember what I did on the trip and not spend hours puking in the toilet.

I’m just glad my Maid of Honor and bridesmaids came together and gave me the best bachelorette trip ever. We had so much fun during the day but our evenings spent drinking and playing games and creating new inside jokes is going to be something I cherish always.

xo,
