My Favorite Photo Spots in Boston

My Favorite Photo Spots in Boston

Boston is absolutely breathtaking.

We went there to celebrate Pat’s birthday, see my sister’s boyfriend, and hang out with close friends. Before we left on our road trip, I put together a list of well known photo spots in Boston to check out. I photo documented our whole trip, as usual, and decided to put together a list of my personal favorite places to photograph in the city. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to shoot in a lot of these places because of the weather and because spring hasn’t quite sprung yet. On top of that, it was actually raining the first day day we were there. I was only able to photograph a small portion of the trip, but these spots made quite the impact on us.

As far as equipment goes, I still shoot with my Nikon D750 + 24-120mm f/4 lens. I do have a 50mm f/1.8. lens as well, that I use from time to time. While I am out and about, I don’t like lugging around a big camera bag, so I typically use my Lo & Sons Claremont cross-body bag. It looks stylish and is perfect for my camera. If you don’t mind carrying a backpack, this bag is very inexpensive and overall is decent quality. It’s a great budget friendly alternative.

Caffè Nero

📍 1 Harvard St, Brookline, MA 02445

Our first day exploring, we wanted to dine at a local cafe and found this quaint little place. Caffè Nero is actually a chain, so I’m sure they’re all set up very similarly. We fell in love with their pistachio muffin and the cosy industrial bookshelf wall.

Beacon Hill

📍Neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts

Beacon Hill is a lovely little neighborhood, that has very photographable streets. We spent some time walking around and looking at the architecture. In fact, it’s a quick walk from Boston Public Garden! It’s also the home of the most famous street in all of Boston, Acorn Street.

Acorn Street

📍 Beacon Hill, Boston, Massachusetts

This is probably one of the most photographed streets in the city. It is very reminiscent of colonial Boston and showcases a lot of history. The houses on the street row are considered to be a prestigious address in Beacon Hill. You can tell that the homeowners really take pride in their curb appeal. While we were there, we watched as several groups of people came to take their picture. If you want to get a shot here, come early and shoot fast.

Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park

📍 Atlantic Ave, Boston, MA 02110

Ever since watching Legally Blonde, I’ve always wanted to partake in picnicking on the lawn, studying under trees, etc. Well, when we got to the park, there was a live band and people were listening to the music on the lawn. We sat there and took it all in! This place would be 10000x more beautiful in the spring in summer when the foliage grows back on the trees and vines.

Uniqlo on Newbury Street

📍 341 Newbury St, Boston, MA 02115

When we walked in, this rainbow staircase immediately caught my attention. There were quite a few people around who also wanted to get shots there, so we had to act fast. It was well worth it.

Getting a chance to see my dear friend and bridesmaid, Megan, was much needed. She took us to Southie and showed us some of the area. Pat and I explored a bit on our own too. We were only there for about two and a half days so I’m sure we missed out on other really amazing places to photograph. We were able to visit Boston Public Garden and Boston Commons but the trees were still in winter-mode and the ponds were drained…it wasn’t too picture-esque.

Any other photo spots in Boston I should check out next time?
