The Year’s End – A New Year Reflection Game

The Year’s End – A New Year Reflection Game

Twenty-Twenty is basically over.

The end of the year is here, so we should share all the wonderful things we accomplished together this year. 2020 was unprecedented. I think most people can agree with me when I saw that this year did not go how we expected. My gut reaction is to comment on how dreary it was. However, the more I look back, the more I see that there were plenty of wonderful moments too. I made this simple game, The Year’s End, so that you can share in all the good things that happened to you in 2020.

A Game of Reflection

Whether you are able to celebrate the impending new year in-person or virtually, you can play this 21-question game with family and friends. It includes questions about the past year, and the one upcoming, making every player share their successes and learnings.

You can download a free printable version of my game, here. For a more durable game, print it on cardstock. Then all you have to do is cut each card out. You can go through all 21 questions in order, or choose each one at random. The beauty of this game is that it can be played every year. The questions never become irrelevant!

Answer each question as funny or earnestly has you’d like. You determine the intensity and excitement of the game. Play with people of all ages, even children.

I think it’s safe to say that moving forward, nothing will ever be quite the same. But it’s important to remember to see the good, even if we find ourselves at our lowest. I’m not just saying that to lecture either ā€“ I have to remind myself to see the positive at times. We must power through and prevail. So 2021, here we come!

What are you most looking forward to next year?
