I love Target, but I love Target hacks more.
I probably spend way too much time in this section of Target. It’s great because you can easily find items from Target’s Dollar Spot to flip to match your home decor. Target Hack tip: If you are willing to put in the time, this section has a lot of potential but choose those items carefully. Look for things that are on-trend, made from materials you can easily flip using the resources you have available.
I decorate my home with (mostly) antique furniture and I sprinkle in modern/contemporary accents. Right now, I’m drawn to soft earthy tones, dark wood, gold, and greens (s/o plants). Because of this, I decided I needed a gold accent on the wall near my TV so I scoured Target for a frame to paint and found this one below for $5!
I also needed to find kitchen soap dispensers. I was tired of looking at the sink and seeing the manufacturer bottles just sitting there. It ruins my whole vibe. I found some dispensers for $5 each and snagged those. Check ’em out below!
Gold Frame
Okay, so I found this square frame and decided I wanted to paint it gold and hang it on the wall. I took out the glass and backing and used Rustoleum Metallic Gold spray paint on the frame. From there, I placed my desired art piece and reassembled the frame.
I could have purchased picture hanging equipment but this frame weights so little so I finessed a little. I took twine and hot glued the ends to the back of the frame, and once it was dry, I hung it on a nail. It works just fine!

Kitchen Soap Dispensers
This Target hack was a lot of fun! In the store, these glass dispensers looked great, but I wanted to create labels in case there was ever any confusion over which soap is which.
I measured the size I wanted for a label and built a template in Photoshop. From there, I took some of my existing watercolor art and created these soap dispenser labels so people will know which one is which. I printed out my labels on sticker paper, cut them out, and stuck it on the glass.
