Sticking To My Goals

Sticking To My Goals

I took the last two weeks of the year off to spend time with family.

My sister recently made a big move across the country so I’ve been helping her pack and dealing with a messy house. My loft started feeling out of control, too ā€“ I am running out of room for all my business supplies and Etsy materials. Two of my biggest goals this year are to declutter my home and get better organized. In an effort to hold myself accountable, I am posting all of my goals here, so at the end of the year 2022, I can look back and see if I stuck to my goals for the year.

Declutter My Home

I spent most of yesterday morning reorganizing the entire room with Alyson’s old IKEA furniture she left behind. If you managed to catch my Instagram story from yesterday, you probably saw the nightmare that was my loft. At that point, I had already pulled out all the junk in the drawers, dumping them on the floor so I would have to organize everything. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way, but I prefer to make a massive mess so I am forced to look through every single thing I’ve kept. This helps me see if what is worth holding onto…very much like Marie Kondo. Cleaning is very cathartic and forces you to recognize your weaknesses. Why do you keep useless things? Why did you hang onto that sheet of paper for so long?

My sister was kind enough to give me her old gaming desk, her desk drawers, an old dresser, and her nightstand. I took all these items and moved them into my loft. I found myself with a cleaner looking work area with plenty of room for growth!

Get Organized

The best part of cleaning is finding ways to keep yourself organized. I purchased drawer organizers to help me sort through all my craft supplies. I also invested in clear bins to help me keep my gift wrapping, packing paper, and candle making supplies sorted.

Working Out

I signed up for a work out app at the end of last year, and I’ve been really good about sticking with my workout goals so far. Every morning, I feed the dogs, eat breakfast and drink my coffee, then workout. I find it’s a great way to get my day started and I feel a thousand times more productive. I have more energy to do things like clean, work on orders, or take my dogs out for spontaneous afternoon walks. And the rumors are true: working out increases endorphins ā€“ I can also feel the changes in my overall mood.

Home Makeovers

With my sister gone, I now have the opportunity to give her old room a total facelift. Sorry Sis ā€“ but I miss you!! I plan to work on larger projects this year like bedroom makeovers, laundry room refreshes, and more! Exciting, right? I always had goals to vlog more, and I plan to post these larger projects in video form on YouTube. YouTube is insanely saturated now, but I think it’s a fun way to keep things interesting here. It was always my intention to invest more time in video making, but I have been terrible about sticking to those goals. Hoping to change that this year!

Take More Pictures

I usually only take photos if it’s for work but this year, I want to shoot more. Not with the intent of sharing every photo, but for myself and memories. So, I’ve included a couple photos of my cute doggies today.

What are some of your 2022 goals?
