As much as I love Winter, I don’t love what it does for my skin. I have to be really selective about what I put on my face because heavy and thick moisturinzing creams irritate my sensitive skin. The next thing I know, I have dry skin and a terrible acne spell.
After trying various different products with no success, I came across Farsali while perusing Nicol Concilio’s Instagram page. I saw her mixing the Farsali Rose Gold Elixir with her Too Faced Born This Way foundation and I was immediately intrigued. Her face looks instantly hydrated and dewy without appearing oily.
After doing research, (something you should always do before buying beauty products,) I purchased the Rose Gold and Volcanic Elixirs.
Rose Gold Elixir – (A.M. routine)
Ingredients: Rosehip Seed Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, 24k Gold, Vitamin E, Lemongrass Oil, and Orange Peel Oil
I use this in the morning after I’ve washed my face, or just before applying my makeup primer. It really helps keep my face from drying out throughout the day, or while I wear makeup. The worst thing in the world is when your skin starts flaking under your foundation; it’s not a good look. This Rose Gold Elixir really works miracles. It’s a daily staple for me during this Winter season.

Volcanic Elixir – (P.M. routine)
Ingredients: Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Oil
I use this every night before bed. It caters more towards acne prone skin, but it really helps keep my face moisturized while I sleep. It has a strong earthy smell that took a while to adjust to, but it’s well worth the smell.
Beauty tips:
- Exfoliate! You would be surprised how quickly dead skin can build up. Exfoliate 1-3 times per week.
- Don’t sleep with the heater on. The heater can really dry out your skin.
- Don’t neglect the neck!
