I recently realized I overlooked hair accessories for my wedding day.
I have a family friend doing my hair but I completely forgot about any bling or greenery to style in it. It wasn’t until I picked up the dress I ordered and tried on accessories. I ended up falling in love with a silver hair clip, that was probably overpriced – but oh well. I plan to wear that during the reception, but for the ceremony, I wanted something with a bit more greenery. So, I took to Pinterest to see what was out there. After finding greenery hair comb inspiration and doing research, I took to Hobby Lobby during their bi-weekly ‘50% off florals‘ sale.
Things You’ll Need:
-
- Wire cutters
- Preserved Eucalyptus
- Faux Greenery, Baby’s Breath, Florals of your choosing
- Ivory Pearl Bead Pick
- Clear Plastic Hair Comb
- Hot Glue Gun & Gorilla Glue Sticks
- Gold Spray Paint
PICKING THE RIGHT HAIR COMB
The reason I chose to use clear plastic is because wire hair combs can sometimes destabilize if there’s too much weight. Depending on the type of greenery and florals you use, it can get pretty heavy. You also want to stick with clear because it’s less likely to show in your hair. Colored/tinted hair combs can sometimes show through your hair and distract from the overall look.
SIMPLE STEPS
There really aren’t any steps to put this hair comb together. I recommend starting by cutting small pieces of greenery and using a light amount of glue. You can use the wires of the bead picks as reinforcement for heavier greenery, too. If you would like some gold faux baby’s breath, take some spray paint and lightly coat the fake florals. Let the paint dry before attaching it to your hair comb.
