How To Style Mules: Look 2

Genevieve Cordery and Susan Hang

I can’t stress how versatile these shoes are. With the perfect pair of mules, it’s hard to steer wrong. If you are looking to get a little dressed up, a little black slip dress pairs perfectly.

The first post in this series showed you how great mules look with a casual outfit, but this second installment will prove to you just how versatile these shoes really are! These exact same shoes, paired with my favorite black slip dress, is perfect for a girls’ night out, or a date night. Don’t believe me? Then take a look at all the great photos, my friend, Susan, took of my outfit!

You’ve probably seen this dress before, but it’s one of my favorites. I’ve worn it with a white tee underneath, a leather jacket, and even alone. It seriously looks great on its own! I accessorized this outfit with some minimalistic rings, a Michael Kors clutch, and a choker from Emi-Jay.

Now, I know some of you are turned off by the idea of wearing shoes that look like something your grandma would wear but hear me out. It’s okay to stick with the classics (pretty things), but as a blogger, you really have to be a forward thinker. If you are a blogger, I’m not telling you to jump on every trend there is – that’s silly – but you need to embrace some new things and mold it to your own unique style. This is something I am still working on. I need to be better about recognizing the new and unfamiliar before it becomes trendy and familiar. I encourage you to do the same. So if you are cringing at my shoes, think about it…can you see yourself buying these at some point? Do you see these working with your current, or future, wardrobe? If so, get yourself a pair. If it doesn’t work out you can always sell them on Poshmark or Depop.

Be sure to check out Look 1, and stay tuned for Look 3!

On a side note, I got my Macbook Pro yesterday! I’m so excited to start vlogging and blogging with it! The interface is taking a bit to get used to, but I already love it so much more than my old wonky laptop and my Surface Pro 3.

Are you into mules at the moment? Have you tried dressing them up yet?
